- Pour the Esprit-d’Italie and the syrup into a mixing glass.
- Stir with a bar spoon until the syrup is fully diluted.
- Add ice cubes and stir again for 27 turns.
- Strain into an Old Fashioned type of glass with a big ice cube.
- Top up with a Vodka soda.
- Garnish with a star anise.
